Photoshop works great on both Windows and Mac system depending upon the the system configuration. I use PCs, no problems providing you have sufficient computer resources. You need a fast microprocessor, a high quality graphics card and as much memory (physical and RAM) that you can afford.

While the i5 processor has plenty of power for light photo editing the 24-36 megapixel files you mention are very large. That will require plenty of processing power. I’d recommend the i7 processor along with plenty of RAM.
